At Indigo Ridge, our farming practices are rooted in regenerative stewardship and a deep commitment to soil health. We believe that healthier soil produces more nutrient-dense meat, so we avoid all synthetic fertilizers, chemicals, and pesticides. Instead, we rely on the natural impact of grazing animals to nourish and build the land. Through rotational and adaptive grazing with our cattle—and by fostering a diverse community of livestock that support one another’s instincts and roles—we create a balanced, resilient ecosystem where both the soil and the animals thrive.

Regeneratively raised meats are often significantly more nutrient-dense than conventionally raised meats due to the health of the soil, the quality of the forage, and the natural lifestyle of the animals. Animals raised on diverse, living pasture tend to produce meat with higher levels of beneficial fats—such as omega-3s and conjugated linoleic acid (CLA)—as well as increased vitamins and minerals like Vitamin A, Vitamin E, iron, and zinc. In contrast, conventionally raised livestock fed mainly grain or confined in feedlots often show lower concentrations of these nutrients. Regenerative systems also support healthier microbiomes in both soil and animals, which contributes to richer, more complex nutrient profiles in the meat. The result is food that’s not only better for the land and the animals, but more nourishing for the people who eat it.

Indigo Ridge Farms is a Certified Producer of Beef, Pork, and Chicken through the American Grassfed Association, meeting their rigorous standards for true grass-fed production. We are proud members of the American Poultry Producer Association and Sweet Grown Alabama, aligning our farm with organizations committed to integrity and transparency in local agriculture. Our practices are also shaped by the wellness principles upheld by the Weston A. Price Association, guiding us in producing nutrient-dense, ethically raised food that supports the health of both our community and our land.

Our meats are free from steroids, antibiotics or hormones.
